The Dreaming Tree Sweepstakes was a contest sponsored by the the Dave Matthew's Band to learn and share about Dreaming Tree Wines. Users earned entries by registering for the contest, by visiting daily, by sharing combinations of Dreaming Tree Wines and complementary recipes, and by sharing combinations of DMB pictures and lyrics. Users could earn an entry by sharing each individual combination on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or via email.
All entries were recorded and a winner was chosen from all the entries submitted. Over a million entries were made, and over 100,000 entrants participated over the two month contest.
The technology was built on a Node.js stack deployed to Heroku and was autoscaled throughout the contest to provide a seamless and consistent experience, regardless of the inbound traffic.
